JLdesignservices Sustainable Building Consultancy provides advice on design and the selection of sustainable construction methods and materials for use in new construction and renovation projects. This includes advice on the choice of construction and insulation materials, green roof constructions, environmentally friendly alternatives to concrete, as well as the use of technologies such as photovoltaic panels, solar hot water heating, ventilation heat recovery systems and ground and air source heat pumps. Financial analysis of payback periods and return on investment are used to justify the selection of materials and technologies.

JLdesignservices was responsible for the development of the LiberHouse eco house designs in conjunction with Oxford Brookes University, aimed at self-builders who wish to construct an environmentally friendly house with very low running costs.
