Energy Usage Performance and Analysis

JLdesignservices Sustainable Building Consultancy provides analytical services to businesses, organisations and homeowners aimed at improving energy efficiency and resource usage, which in turn reduces energy costs and CO₂ emissions.

Using best-practice post occupancy evaluation methodologies, our analysis covers the design and historical development of the building, analysing the energy performance and resource usage in order to form a picture of the building's performance. This takes the form of a building survey and an analysis of the buildings fabric, identifying areas of high energy loss. The building's heating, lighting and power systems are analysed, and gas, water and electricity consumption are monitored over a period of time.

A report then presents a set of recommendations to help to reduce energy consumption and costs. This takes the form of of a set of recommendations, starting with no-cost/ low-cost measures, medium-cost measures and long-term high capital cost measures for building fabric, space heating, hot water and power and lighting improvements, together with cost analyses for payback periods and return on investment for each of the recommended strategies.
